MAG 30 Range Shooter Development - 30 Hours

Pre-Requisite Requirement - MAG 20 Course Certificate

MAG-30 Range is a three-day course is specifically designed to bring the MAG-20 Range or MAG-40 Graduate to the next level of their shooting skills using Massad Ayoob’s Defensive StressFire Defensive Handgun System.

MAG-30 Range is a physically and mentally demanding course. The 3,000 round count Course of Fire is extremely structured for maximum efficiency.

Each core technique is trained, skill builder drills are performed and a minimum score is needed for each of the eight (8) qualifications. All Qualifications need a passing score of 90%, 270 points scored out of a possible 300 points.  All techniques during all qualifications must be performed properly, within the exact time limits, with passing scores, to receive a MAG-30 Range certificate.

MAG-20 - Massad Ayoob Group Armed Citizen Rules of Engagement - 20 Hours

A two-day, 20-hour immersion course in rules of engagement for armed law-abiding private citizens, emphasizing legal issues, tactical issues, and aftermath management.

Topics will include interacting with suspects, witnesses, responding police officers…threat recognition and mind-set…management of social and psychological aftermath after having had to use lethal force in defense of self or others…and preparing beforehand for legal repercussions and minimizing exposure to them. Situations in the home, at the place of business, or “on the street” will all be covered.

MAG Revolver Training - 18 Hours

Pre-Requisite Requirement - Certificate from a formal pistol firearms training.

This course introduces tactics into the core StressFire system of Massad Ayoob.

The Revolver Pistol Skills course is an intermediate two day course in the defensive skills involved with a concealed pistol.  Skills covered are safe gun handling based on the StressFire system developed by Massad Ayoob, drawing rapidly from concealment, speed reloads, the blend of speed and accuracy from close range to intermediate distances, and shooting with either Strong Hand Only and Weak Hand Only.

Each student will then perform several shooting drills including safely operating the revolver, stances to improve accuracy, speed reloads, and shooting with one hand, engaging multiple targets, malfunction clearances, grip, the trigger cycle.

Each student will need a minimum of three speed loaders. 

This course deals primarily with Interaction with Suspects within the Stages of Intervention from the course, “Armed Citizens’ Rules of Engagement.”

The Course of Fire includes firing approximately 500 rounds of ammunition from various distances, in a number of shooting positions.

Like all Massad Ayoob Group courses, current “Proof of Good Character” is needed.

Proof of Good Character is *ONE OF THE FOLLOWING*

a. Current State Issued Permit/License to carry a concealed handgun

DTI - ARMED RESPONSE TO A TERRORIST ATTACK - John Farnam - 18 Hours

his course is designed to prepare armed citizens against the threat of terrorist violence and other active-shooter events.

Current events indicate a steady increase in terror-related attacks against westerners. Violent extremists and other savages are actively targeting LEOs, Military servicemen and women–as well as their families–to be butchered in public. In addition to LE/MIL individuals and families, we see a rise in these types of attacks on virtually any target of opportunity. Even members of their own culture/faith/ideology are martyred for their depraved cause! This trend will likely continue for the foreseeable future.

For that reason, we have seen the need to develop this specialized firearms course with a focus on armed response to these unique dangers in our modern world. Classroom instruction will cover practical options and tactics intended to give individual operators the life-saving mindset and skill sets for prevailing against such attacks.

Live-fire drills will simulate attacks in:

• Movie theaters
• Restaurants
• Shopping malls
• other active-shooter scenarios

This is a combined rifle and pistol course, with heavy emphasis on pistol.Our ARTA Program (Armed Response to a Terrorist Attack) is intended for Operators who have had previous training in the serious use of pistols and rifles.  It is not suitable for beginning students of our Art.In ARTA, we do scenarios, where, for example, the student starts with his pistol, then goes and retrieves his rifle, gets it running, then finishes the drill.  We do a lot of exercises where threats are mixed-in with non-threats.  Long-distance pistols shooting!Students need to bring at least one pistol and a rifle, spare magazines for each (at least one) along with normal safety equipment and concealment gear.  Rifles must have slings suitable for all-day carry.
